Houston Summer Staycation

Ok, we've decided this summer to do a little exploring of our own city each week, amongst all of our travels! I'm so in for this, so I've started to do some research. And here's what I've found:
HOTEL
The Hotel Zaza is a really stylish and quaint boutique style hotel with a pool, spa, and a bar. It makes a great location for an overnight local getaway. We just recently stayed here for the weekend for my neice's wedding, and it was so much fun to be a tourist in our own city! The good news is that Houston has 2 of them and they are both in a good walkable area. One in Memorial is walkable to nice restaurants and shopping at Memorial City Mall while the Zaza in the museum district is walkable to the museums, the delicious Le Jardiniere restaurant, Hermann Park and Miller Outdoor theatre, and the Houston Zoo. I highly recommmend booking a weekend at te Zaå to unwind, whether you are with your partner, girlfriends, or your family.
ADVENTURES
Meow Wolf is an interactice art experience and it has come to Houston. It looks really unique and creative and I want to take my kids to go explore it.
Another interactive art experience/museum, is The Color Factory. I've taken my girls here and we had a great time!
If you are the roller coaster type and miss Astroworld like me, never fear, Galveston has Pleasure Pier! (I rhymed and didn't even plan it!) Now, this is good old fashioned childhood summer fun. And maybe you want to get back in touch with your innerchild for the day. There are numerous rides from the mildly scary to try-not-to-pee-your-pants drops! They also have restaurants and food and the usual summer snakcs like sno cones and ice cream!
Above I mentioned museums and Houston has no shortage of them. In fact you could be really lofty and hit them all in one day because they are so close to each other, you could just walk from museum to museum all day! There is the Natural History Museum, The Museum of FIne Arts Houston, Contemporary Arts Museum, and of course the Childrens Museum Houston. The cool thing about all the Houston museums is that they have special classes and workshops for kids of various ages at any given time, so make sure to check out their websites for those.

Let me know what you discover around the city this summer. I, personally, am looking forward to a fun and fresh new perspective on my city.
